Consumer.gov
Offers links to a broad range of federal information for consumers that is available on the Web. Includes information about child health and safety.

Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC)
Contains product recall notices, publications on a variety of safety topics, a mechanism for reporting unsafe products, and a children's section about safety. Includes Spanish language materials. CPSC is an independent federal regulatory agency.

CYFERNet: Children, Youth, and Families Education and Research Network
Contains resources to support community-based educational programs for children, youth, and families. Topics include child care, child and youth development, behavior, health and safety, nutrition, and parenting. Materials are available in Spanish. CYFERNet is funded as a joint project of the Department of Agriculture's Cooperative State Research, Education, and Extension Service and the Cooperative Extension System.

Family Village
Contains a wealth of resources for people with disabilities, their families, and those that provide them with services and support. Includes resources about specific diagnoses and general disability-related topics, such as adaptive products and technology, advocacy, child care, and respite care. Also offers online discussion groups, chat rooms, and parent-to-parent matching programs. Family Village is part of the Waisman Center at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Genetics Home Reference (GHR)
Offers information about genetic conditions and the genes responsible for those conditions. Also provides a basic explanation of how genes work and how mutations cause genetic disorders. Information about genetic counseling, genetic testing, gene therapy, and the Human Genome Project is also provided. This Web site is a service of the National Library of Medicine.

Hardin Meta Directory of Internet Health Sources
Lists Internet resources for health-related subjects, including family medicine, pediatrics, and women's health. Also provides links to Spanish language resources and medical pictures. This resource is provided by the Hardin Library for the Health Sciences at the University of Iowa.

Links to an A to Z index of health resources for health professionals and consumers that includes information about health conditions, clinical trials, drugs, and special programs such as rare diseases. The index is a service of the National Institutes of Health (NIH).

Offers a gateway to consumer health and human services information in English and Spanish that includes publications, clearinghouses, databases, Web sites, and support groups, as well as government agencies and not-for-profit organizations that produce consumer health information. healthfinder is a service of the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS).

KIDSHealth is a service of the medical staff at the Nemours Foundation.

Offers consumer health and medical information, including facts and advice about common ailments, treatments, medications, and healthy habits. Contains sections on children's health and women's health. This Web site is a service of the Mayo Foundation for Medical Education and Research.

MedlinePlus
Offers a selective list of authoritative health information sources for consumers and health professionals on over 600 diseases and conditions. Also contains lists of hospitals and physicians, a medical encyclopedia and a medical dictionary, information in Spanish, drug information, health news, and clinical trial information. MedlinePlus is a service of the National Library of Medicine (NLM).

NetWellness
Offers a consumer health information service that includes information on such MCH-related topics as breastfeeding, newborn care, pregnancy, and domestic violence. Resources include an "ask an expert" service, patient education materials, health news, and a health encyclopedia. NetWellness is created and evaluated by health professional faculty at the University of Cincinnati, Case Western Reserve University, and Ohio State University.

NOAH: New York Online Access to Health (NOAH)
Links to evaluated, full-text consumer health information in English and Spanish on a wide-range of topics. NOAH partners include the City University of New York, the Metropolitan New York Library Council, the New York Academy of Medicine Library, the New York Public Library, the Queens Borough Public Library, and the Brooklyn Public Library.
