Annotation: The National Prevention Information Network (NPIN) is the U.S. government's reference, referral, and distribution service for information on HIV/AIDS, viral hepatitis, sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), and tuberculosis (TB). NPIN collects, catalogs, processes, and electronically disseminates materials and information on HIV/AIDS, viral hepatitis, STDs, and TB to organizations and people in international, national, state, and local settings. NPIN facilitates sharing of information and resources on education and prevention services, published materials, research findings, and trends. Specialized services include databases, downloadable materials, reference and referral services, a resource center, and related services. The Web site features news feeds; information on campaigns and initiatives, conferences, and funding; electronic mailings lists; statistics; and links to related sites. A companion Web site is provided for Spanish-language users.
